About us

What defines the people at St. Barnabas?

We’d like to think of ourselves as a community of GIVING, SHARING and RECEIVING.

Why giving? Because we try our best to open our hearts to others through our stewardship, our social ministries and our fellowship with one another.

Why sharing? Because we have a passion to share our faith by teaching and evangelizing.

Why receiving? Because we know that without faith, without worship and especially without the Eucharist we are nothing.

Come join us and become a part of something! Become a part of Christ at St. Barnabas!

The life of our church is guided by three statements:

  • Our Purpose is to build a Christian community where non-religious and nominally religious people are becoming deeply committed Christians.
  • Our Vision is to be used by God to change lives, strengthen churches, and transform the world.
  • Our Journey is to know, love and serve God.

“To reach people with the life-giving message of Jesus that they might become fully devoted followers of Christ.”

“Teacher, which commandment in the law is the greatest?” He said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the greatest and first commandment. And a second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.”

MATTHEW 22:36-40 NRSVCE

And he said to them, “Go into all the world and proclaim the good news to the whole creation. The one who believes and is baptized will be saved; but the one who does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will accompany those who believe: by using my name they will cast out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up snakes in their hands, and if they drink any deadly thing, it will not hurt them; they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will recover.” And they went out and proclaimed the good news everywhere, while the Lord worked with them and confirmed the message by the signs that accompanied it.
