Founded on the principles of charity, unity, and fraternity, the Knights of Columbus (KofC) was established in 1882 by Father Michael J. McGivney, assistant pastor of St. Mary's Church in New Haven, Connecticut, and a group of parishioners. Their intent? To bring financial aid and assistance to the sick, disabled, and needy members and their families. Today, Father McGivney is being considered for sainthood.
Service and charity are at the heart of the Knights. Founded to meet the needs of immigrants, refugees, and families suffering from the death of a breadwinner, the Knights began as a small service organization and has grown into a worldwide financial and charitable organization.
With 1.9 million members around the world, we have been investing our time, effort, and sources into our values of charity, unity and fraternity, and patriotism since 1882.
Our Code of Ethics and Conduct:
The Knights of Columbus principles of Charity, Unity, Fraternity, and Patriotism serve as the basis of the Order's core values which are integrity, professionalism, excellence, and respect.
We invite all Catholic men to join Knights of Columbus to know more what you can do for your parish & community.
